LETTERPRESS PRINT
I recently had the opportunity to collaborate with long time friend and master letterpress printer Brady Vest of Hammerpress. Our collaboration zoomed in on a detail from one of my larger textile works. Each print went through the press 10 times, building subtle layers of white, off-white and hot acid reds. The final pass on the print was inspired by black and white vintage ticking fabric. It was produced from actual fabric pieces I had sewn together and then made into a printing plate. This final visual element frames in the image and gives it a sense of balance. I could not be happier with the outcome of this collaboration.
